According to the latest data released by the GACC on AUG 8th, due to the decrease in foreign trade demand, reduced orders, and the impact of a high base from the previous year, China's textile and apparel exports had another decline in July.

In terms of US dollars, textile and apparel exports in July decreased by 18.3% year-on-year, a larger decline compared to the overall national goods trade. Textile exports continued to shrink due to the decrease in orders for consumer goods, with a year-on-year decline of 17.8%. Apparel exports did not continue the recovery trend seen in June, with a year-on-year decline of 18.7%. The cumulative decline in and apparel exports from January to July has further expanded compared to the previous month.

Industry Cluster

Gangnan District, Guigang City, Guangxi Province

In recent years, Gangnan District has actively collaborated with the CFDIA. It has attracted high-quality feather and down enterprises from places like Wuchuan, Guangdong and Lu'an, Anhui through investment attraction initiatives, facilitating collaboration between Wuchuan and Gangnan, the two major feather and down production areas, as well as the local feather and down associations. This has accelerated the development of the feather and down industry.

Additionally, the district is establishing core platforms such as the Feather and Down Information Center, Testing Center, and Trading Center in the industrial park to promote the aggregation and cross-industry development of the feather and down industry.

According to reports, the washed feather and down in Gangnan District involves transshipment from ports such as Hong Kong and Shenzhen, which is time-consuming and expensive. This has led to increased operating costs for feather and down enterprises. In early this year, Gangnan District submitted the proposal "construct a green channel for the import of washed feather and down". Measures such as high-level planning for park construction, high-quality advancement of institutional development, high-standard establishment of industrial alliances, and high-standard promotion of brand aggregation will be implemented.

Lu'an City, Anhui Province

Lu'an City has implemented the revitalization of the goose breeding industry, fully exploring the potential advantages of goose resources, expanding the industry scale, extending the industry chain, and creating a green high-end goose industry cluster to promote the leap-forward development of the goose industry.

Lu'an City will plan and construct a goose product production and processing park, establish a full industry chain of the goose industry dominated by the Wuxi White Goose and Lande Goose, promote industry aggregation and development, and build a green high-end goose industry cluster. By 2027, the city aims to achieve a goose farming volume of 30 million (24 million white geese and 6 million Lande geese), with a comprehensive output value of the goose industry and feather and down industry exceeding 30 billion RMB (with the goose industry accounting for more than 18 billion RMB and the feather and down industry accounting for more than 12 billion RMB).
