Export and Import Data

In June 2023, the total export amount of down industry was approximately 300 million USD, a year-on-year decrease of 20.4%. Except for a slight increase in the export volume of bedding products, other categories had varying degrees of decline in both export volume and amount. In summary, in the first half of this year, the total export amount of the industry was approximately 1.21 billion USD, a year-on-year decrease of 15.8%.

In June 2023, the total import amount of down industry was approximately 66.528 million USD, a slight year-on-year increase of about 3.1%. The average unit price of imported bedding and clothing decreased, while the average unit price of raw materials increased. Overall, in the first half of the year, the total industry import amount was about 290 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%.

CFDIA standard promotion and training sessions

Four industry standards, QB/T 1193-2023 Down & feather quilts, QB/T 1194-2023 Down & feather mattresses, QB/T 1195-2023 Down & feather sleeping bags, QB/T 1196-2023 Down & feather cushion and pillows, were published on May 22nd and will be officially implemented starting from November 1st. CFDIA has organized three standard promotion and training sessions in Xiaoshan Hangzhou, Wuchuan Guangdong, and Hefei Anhui from late June to late July. Nearly 500 people attended these sessions.

The convening of these three standard promotion and training sessions has played an important role in promoting the better implementation of the new standards for down bedding, ensuring accurate understanding and mastery of the standard content, and enhancing the implementation efforts and effectiveness of all relevant parties in down industry.

Industry Cluster:

Qiaoxu Town, Gangnan District, Guigang City, Guangxi Province

Recently, the construction of Qiaoxu Down Industry Park is accelerating. According to reports, the industrial park covers an area of over 2,300 acres. It mainly consists of a raw material trading area, processing area, fine washing and processing area, product area, auxiliary production area, technology exhibition area, and integrated supporting service area for storage and logistics. It aims to establish eight major service platforms for down trading, processing, testing, research and development, exhibition, finance, innovation incubation, and independent brand marketing. The park will introduce advanced production, processing, and testing equipment to promote the transformation of the down industry from primary processing to deep processing.

Tongcheng City, Anqing City, Anhui Province

After a year of construction, the Tongcheng Livestock and Poultry Down Industry Park project, with a total area of nearly 1000 acres, has completed the construction of the agricultural product deep processing zone, cold chain logistics zone, supporting service zone, and green breeding zone. It has been approved as a provincial-level modern agricultural industry park this year. The industry park aims to strengthen local enterprises, attract leading enterprises in the deep processing of livestock and poultry products, and connect the links of egg and duck farming, egg processing, down deep processing, and down bedding, thereby enhancing the entire industry chain of egg and duck production.

Lu’an City, Anhui Province

In recent years, Lu’an City has focused on the development of agricultural characteristic industries and has achieved certain results by relying on the advantages of the white goose resources and promoting the deep development of the white goose industry. It is crucial to realize the full industry chain production. Efforts should be made to accelerate the establishment of Lu’an White Goose Industrial Park, deepen and expand the industrial cluster aggregation, and quickly form an industrial chain aggregation area that integrates white goose slaughter and food processing, cold chain warehousing and logistics, market transactions, and deep processing of down and feathers, as well as a center for white goose cultural display.

Wuchuan City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province

The research report of high quality development of Wuchuan city down industry shows that after more than 40 years of cultivation, the down industry in Wuchuan has achieved significant development and gradually formed an industrial cluster with a complete industry chain. The down industry in Wuchuan has six major advantages in terms of raw materials, market space, and industrial clusters. Currently, the Wuchuan down industry is in a critical period of transformation and upgrading, with the conditions and foundation for achieving high-end, intelligent, and green transformation and development.
